How much can a 4 tonne tracked carrier carry?
4,000 kg on level ground with the load correctly positioned on the platform. Payload reduces on gradients and with offset or overhanging loads, so we confirm the working figure against your actual conditions.
Why use a tracked carrier instead of a forklift?
Forklifts need firm, level ground and reasonable turning space. A tracked carrier works on mud, sand, slopes, uncompacted fill and turf, spreads its weight so surfaces survive, and fits through access a counterbalance forklift cannot negotiate. On a prepared hardstand, a forklift is usually the cheaper option.Yes. Standard hire is wet hire, which includes a licensed, experienced operator. Is 4 tonnes the largest tracked carrier available?
It is the largest in the compact class. Full-sized crawler carriers go considerably higher, but they are much wider, need formed site access, and cost more to mobilize. For most Melbourne sites, the compact four tonne machine is the practical ceiling.
Can it carry oversized or awkward loads?

Can it be used indoors?
Depending on the power configuration, yes. Electric units produce no exhaust and run quietly, which suits occupied buildings and enclosed spaces. Floor loading, headroom and access width all need confirming first.
Will it damage floors, turf or paving?
Rubber tracks distribute four tonnes across a large contact area, so ground pressure stays low. Non-marking tracks and matting are used where surfaces are finished or sensitive.
Should I hire a 2.5T or a 4T carrier?
Your heaviest single item decides it. If nothing exceeds 2,500 kg, the smaller machine is cheaper to hire and transport. If one item is heavier, or the cargo needs an extended platform, the 4-tonne machine is the one.
Do you offer dry hire?
Wet hire with an operator is the standard arrangement. Dry hire can be arranged where your crew is competent on the machine, subject to induction and site requirements.
