What is the difference between a tracked carrier and a tracked dumper?
A carrier is built to transport loads, and depending on configuration may have a flat deck or a tipping body. A dumper is specifically built around a tipping body for loose bulk material. At this size, the two overlap heavily, and the body type matters more than the label.
How much can a 2.5 tonne tracked carrier carry?
2,500 kg on level ground. Payload reduces as the gradient increases, so we confirm the safe working figure against your actual site slope before quoting.
How wide is a 2.5T tracked carrier?
Wider than the compact one tonne machines, because the extra payload needs a larger frame and track base. It clears standard site gates but not internal doorways. Send us the narrowest point, and we will confirm.
Can it work on wet or muddy ground?
Yes, that is the main reason to hire this machine over a wheeled dumper. Rubber tracks deliver low ground pressure and strong traction on wet clay, sand, soft fill and boggy conditions.
Will it damage turf, lawn or paving?
Absolutely. With articulated steering, a compact frame and no outriggers, a Franna operates in narrow laneways, congested sites and factories with limited head height where a slewing crane cannot set up.
Can it climb slopes?
Yes, within its rated gradient, and considerably better than a wheeled equivalent. Payload reduces on steeper ground, so we assess the slope as part of the site review.
Should I hire a 1.25T or a 2.5T carrier?
Access decides it. If the route includes a doorway or narrow side gate, the 1.25 tonne machine fits, and this one will not. If the ground is the problem and the loads are heavy, the 2.5 tonne machine is the better economics.
Do you offer dry hire?
Wet hire with an operator is the standard arrangement. Dry hire can be arranged where your crew is competent on the machine, subject to induction and site requirements.
