When it comes to backyard renovations, landscaping, or pool removals, the biggest headache isn’t usually the work itself. Instead, it’s the access. For these projects, having a Mac 25 franna on site can make things much easier by handling tight access and heavy lifting.
In our latest project spotlight, we’re looking at a classic residential challenge: moving bulk, heavy materials out of a walled-in property. In situations like these, where a Mac 25 franna is not available, standard trucks simply cannot go where needed. That’s where precision equipment and an experienced crew come into play.
The Challenge: Walled-In Excavation
Take a look at the site layout in the photo. We were dealing with:
- Restricted Access: A high front rendering wall separating the yard from the street.
- Zero Ground Clearance: No way to drive a truck or large loader directly to the excavation area.
- Heavy Materials: A significant amount of heavy, excavated soil and organic debris that needed to be removed efficiently.
Doing this manually with wheelbarrows would have taken days of backbreaking labour. It also risks damage to the pathways and extends the timeline of the project, which is why hiring a Mac 25 franna really streamlines the operation.
The Solution: The MAC 25 Franna Crane
To solve the access issue, we brought in the workhorse of the fleet: the Terex MAC 25 Franna pick and carry crane.
Here is why the MAC 25 was the perfect machine for this specific lift. Essentially, the Mac 25 franna handled tight access brilliantly and made heavy lifting a breeze:
- Reach and Clearance: Positioned safely on the street, the Franna easily boomed out over the front wall and footpath. Therefore, we had direct access to the drop zone without encroaching on the property line.
- Heavy Lifting Capacity: As seen in the photo, the crane effortlessly hoisted a large, custom skip bin fully loaded with heavy, damp soil and roots.
- Seamless Teamwork: The crane worked in perfect tandem with a mini track loader operating inside the yard. The loader filled the bin, and the Franna hoisted it out, creating a continuous, efficient cycle of earth removal.
The Result
What could have been a logistical nightmare was completed safely, quickly, and cleanly. By utilising the Mac 25 franna, we kept the residential street relatively clear. Additionally, we protected the client’s existing landscaping and pool area, and drastically cut down the time required for earth removal.
Whether you are lifting structural steel or hoisting soil out of a tight courtyard, the Mac 25 franna is often the right crane for making all the difference.
