Here in the Crane2U workspace we’re currently erecting a warehouse that our multiskilled crane operators/ boiler makers have fabricated in next to no time.
As you can see in the image there’s a combination of both crane and boom lifts used to safely lift and secure these truss assemblies into place. So we’re not all about the franna’s.
If you’re new here though, below is a simple breakdown of the roll of these 2 pieces of equipment.
- Crane: The crane’s primary function is to lift, move, and place the heavy load. It is designed with a boom, hoist, and counterweights to handle significant weight and reach.
- Boom Lift: The boom lift’s function is to elevate a worker to a specific height and position. It is used to provide access for tasks that support the crane’s operation, such as:
- Rigging: A worker in a boom lift might attach slings or rigging gear to a load that is not accessible from the ground.
- Guiding the Load: A worker can use a tag line to help guide a load into its final position, preventing it from rotating or swinging uncontrollably.
- Inspecting and Securing: Once the load is in place, a boom lift might be used to allow a worker to unhook the rigging or secure the object to its final structure.
As you can see the two operate in a highly coordinated, pre-planned sequence to accomplish a task that would be impossible for a single machine alone. With the crane lifting the load and the boom lift providing safe access for the workers who facilitate the lift, jobs add heights like these are made much easier.
